  1. New words

New vocabulary allows us to can name ideas and realities that may have been unfamiliar to us before. 1. Me, in my house

We spend a lot of time in our houses. They constitute spaces in which we want to feel comfortable and relaxed. However, we do not always take into consideration the environmental implications of our actions while we are at home. There are several tips that can help us become more environmentally friendly. Simple actions like keeping our electronics unplugged, turning off the lights when we are not using them or correctly sorting the waste can have a huge impact.

  1. Living connected

The addiction to technology and social networks has exponentially increased, especially among young people. These are problems that need to be addressed promptly. There are many healthy activities that can help us disconnect and are very enjoyable, such as practicing sports, playing table games or even meeting up with friends. Many of these activities can also be practiced in an environmentally friendly way.

  1. While I learn, what can I do?

If we want to make an impact and improve our living conditions, sustainability must be taken into consideration. The seven R’s of sustainability (rethink, refuse, reduce, repurpose, reuse, recycle and rot) can act as a guideline to support our action. However, sometimes we can forget to put our learning into practice. Therefore, we must encourage ourselves and the people around us to act. Action can take place in any educational context in which we find ourselves: school, high school, college, etc.

  1. I take care of myself, and I take care of you

Practicing a sport is essential to be healthy. Outdoors sports are especially beneficial due to the environments in which they can be practiced. There is an old saying that goes “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. It is important to maintain a healthy diet, but it is also important to take care of the environment if we want to find uncontaminated spaces to practice sports. The best way to prevent this is to avoid leaving a human footprint in the natural spaces that we visit. Education also plays a major role.

  1. My sustainable party

Partying is a nice way to meet new people and to disconnect from the daily routine. The only bad thing about partying is the huge amount of waste that is usually generated during the development of the events. Eco-conscious partying consists on the execution of small changes to help us reduce our environmental impact while we have fun.
